PETRA KORNER, AAC
Petra is an award-winning feature film, television and commercial cinematographer, who is based in Europe as well as the US. After receiving her cinematographic education at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, followed by her Master’s degree American Film Institute Conservatory (AFI) in Los Angeles, Petra was lucky to be shooting her first studio movies by the age of thirty.
Since then, while raising two kids as a single mom, Petra has served as the Director of Photography on an array of commercials, as well as high-end TV drama, such as A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES for Sky, HBO’s HIS DARK MATERIALS, or SHADOW AND BONE for Netflix. Her feature film credits include THE WACKNESS, starring Sir Ben Kingsley; Gregor Jordan’s THE INFORMERS, starring Winona Ryder, Kim Basinger, Billy- Bob Thornton and Mickey Rourke, Wes Craven’s MY SOUL TO TAKE, as well as Joe Chappelle’s AN ACCEPTABLE LOSS, starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
Both in commercials and films, Petra’s work has received many accolades, amongst them the “KODAK VISION AWARD” at the Women in Film Awards in Hollywood.
