PAULO PÉREZ, ADFC

Cinematographer & Co-founder of the Colombian Guild of Cinematographers ADFC with more than 25 years of experience working on features, documentaries, and series produced in countries all around the world such as Colombia, England, France, India, México, Tunisia, United States, Qatar and others. Paulo Pérez’ latest work has been focused in the making of the Netflix Original Series “100 Years of Solitude” based on Gabriel García Márquez’ famous novel, directed by Alex Garcia Lopez and Laura Mora. As well as the Sony Live India series “Jengaburu, The Curse” directed by Nilha Panda in Northern India. Pérez has also contributed to other several titles like the western series “The Head of Joaquin Murrieta” filmed in the Durango Desert and “News of a Kidnapping both available on Amazon Prime

Pérez’ cinematography combines a background expertise on documentary films with fiction projects. His filming locations are usually in remote and wild enviroments like the jungle, mountain, desert and forest, his adaptability in rough terrain allows for unique collaborations with the native communities of these regions, creating a marvelous mix of the elements of fiction and documentary in the mise-in-scene. The series “Green Frontier” is a perfect example of his style, shot entirely in the Amazon Rainforest, directed by Ciro Guerra, Jacques Toulemonde and Laura Mora.
