FilmLight Colour Awards reveals 2025 nominees

Jury selects 25 nominees across six categories – winners to be announced at EnergaCAMERIMAGE on 16 November

Live from an evening celebrating colour at Cooke Optic’s London Gallery, FilmLight has announced the nominees for the 2025 FilmLight Colour Awards. In their fifth year, the awards attracted over 500 entries from 47 countries across the globe and the independent jury of cinematographers, colourists and creatives – led by this year’s Jury President Bradford Young, ASC – have now revealed the names of the 25 colourists shortlisted across six categories.

“It has been an honour and a true pleasure to serve as president of this year’s FilmLight Colour Awards jury,” says Young. “What’s most evident about this year’s work is that the world of colour is a growing and dynamic expression harnessed by an international community of great artists. Thus, was true of our jury. This process was a true, unfiltered example of how cinema can bring us together. And how moving images are expressions of the human condition, in all its vibrancy and struggle.

“Colour grading is the final utterance of nuance in this journey we call filmmaking. And our journey is incomplete without it. Congratulations to all our final nominees, you are all winners. You have all inspired us tremendously.”
